HDD making Loud Spinning Noise

Hello,

I have an Asus X571GT laptop.

Two days ago, I start my day waking my laptop from sleep/hibernate mode, and go shower.
I come back from the shower and I hear my HDD making a LOUD WHIRLING noise. Coming from the bottom right of the laptop. (Picture attached)
As of the fan is going into overdrive. That kinda sound.

I quickly close everything and put my laptop back into sleep/hibernate mode. I turn it back on a few minutes later, and the noise is gone. I start using my computer and suddenly the HDD goes into overdrive again. Loud whirling noise. 
This time I shut everything down. Start > Shut down. Leave it alone for 20min, turn it back on. Back to normal.
Everything is fine.

For the past 2 days, it's sounds normal. However, when you're using it, if the room is quiet, you can hear a faint buzzing noise coming from the HDD area. Very faint. 
Today I took it to a computer shop for them to look at it. Explained what happened. They said they opened it up and couldn't find anything.
No news is better than good news, I'll take it.

4 hours later, I'm using my laptop and suddenly the HDD starts to whirl up again. Same Loud whirling noise. I immediately close everything and shut it down.

Anybody have any idea what could be the issue?

According to your description, your HDD is making abnormal noises during usage. Hard drives typically emit slight operational sounds when data is being read from or written to them. You can check your Task Manager for any software or background processes that might be causing excessive hard drive activity. Sometimes, specific applications or tasks can trigger increased hard drive activity, leading to noise.
Additionally, you can use MyASUS to check if there are any unusual behaviors with your hard drive.

Hey Anbby,

I ran MyAsus and performed a ChkDsk, and everything came up negative. Even took screenshots of my Task Manager before and whirling noise, and during the whirling noise and everything was pretty much the same.
I showed it to my buddy who's a Techy and he pretty much, combined with the MyAsus and Chkdsk results, ruled out issues with the HDD.
We suspect it might be the fan(s) that's the real culprit of the noise.
Spent today looking for programs that would see if there's an issue with the fan, or would indicate changes of fan speeds before and during the noise, to no avail.

On another website, I posted this issue and someone after looking at my Speccy results, indicated it looks like an issue with the fan, so right now that's my going theory.

If you have ruled out issues with the hard drive, as you mentioned, it is also possible that the error is occurring during fan operation.
From our standpoint, we would still recommend that you consider visiting a service center for further examination.
