Hi All
I have a Zenbook Duo which came with an Arabic Keyboard. I ordered a replacement keyboard and paired it. However recently I got a couple of BSOD during power up during which I noticed that despite being docked to the laptop lower screen - the keyboard was not connected to the device and the BT indicator on the keyboard was flashing. I've also noticed that when I turn off the BT on the keyboard - it no longer types into the laptop.
So ... is the keyboard always connecting through bluetooth whether docked or not? And if it always requires BT - how does this work when you are in the BIOS, or Safe Mode, etc.
Thanks, Ken

@KenPascoe
Could you please provide the complete model of the laptop you are using?
How to find Model Name
Did you purchase a keyboard that was not provided by us and install it on your laptop for use?
If so, since we cannot verify the stability and reliability of the parts you purchased, if you encounter a BSOD issue after installing the parts, it is recommended that you reconnect the original parts to check if the issue reoccurs.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Hello - thanks for addressing my query
Laptop Model : UX8406Ca
Original Keyboard : UX8406M - P/N 0KNB1-4454AR00
Replacement Keyboard : UX8406M - P/N 0KNB1-4454AR00
I was forced to purchase this keyboard from the link below, because after several emails and phone calls - ASUS AUSTRALIA REFUSED TO SELL ME A REPLACEMENT KEYBOARD. If you can assist with that I would be extremely grateful.
Assuming however that you are unable to help with that ... I restored the original keyboard - it connects to the laptop and works when the bluetooth is turned off, through the connector one presumes. But the replacement cannot seem to communicate with the laptop through the connector - although it does charge that way.
Can you advise whether the keyboard I purchased can me made functional in some way - if not, why please.
If you can arrange to sell me the correct keyboard for my laptop, please advise.

Based on the P/N you provided, the two should be the same. However, since we cannot verify the reliability of the parts you purchased and you are able to use the original keyboard without any issues, we believe that the purchased parts may have a problem.
If you need to replace the keyboard, we recommend contacting the local customer service to confirm whether the relevant parts for your product model are available for replacement in your area.
