Outdated graphics driver

For my Vivobook X1505VA laptop, only an outdated Intel graphics driver version 32.0.101.5768 is available. That is, this is an Intel driver released by Asus on September 8, 2024. However, the generic Intel Arc & Iris Xe Graphics - Windows driver version 32.0.101.5768 was actually released even earlier. Other manufacturers, such as Dell, provide up-to-date drivers in a timely manner. But Asus only offers an outdated version.

Version 32.0.101.5768 contains bugs — for example, the madVR renderer for video players doesn't work. Since Asus doesn't provide a newer driver, the only solution is to use the generic Intel graphics driver.

Still, I would prefer if Asus released an updated version of the driver, since manufacturer-provided drivers usually include optimizations. Moreover, Windows Update keeps offering to install the driver provided by Asus. I mean, even if you install a generic driver, after some time Windows Update downgrades it without asking to the older version released by Asus. Moreover, the instructions from Intel’s website don’t help. You can hide the update using the "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter package provided by Microsoft, but even that isn’t straightforward and has some issues.

My question is how can I pass my message on to the Asus software development department? Simply discussing the issue with the community won't help. It’s important that Asus specialists take into account that the graphics driver needs to be updated, as the current version has issues.

@KarenK
Could you please provide the current BIOS version, system version, and the full name and version of the third-party software being used?
Additionally, please provide the steps you followed when using the third-party software, as well as screenshots of any errors or issues encountered.
We will forward this information to the relevant department for further assistance.
Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.

BIOS Version: X1505VA.304

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Home (x64) Build 26100.4349 (24H2)

Steps:

1. Install MPC-HC clsid2 v. 2.4.3.6

2. Download madVR v0.92.17 and install it by running install.bat

3. Select madVR as renderer in the MPC-HC video player settings (View/Options/Playback/Output/DirectShow Video)

4. Restart the MPC-HC video player

5. Open any video with this player

Issue:

No errors or crashes occur. However, the video is rendered incorrectly. Unfortunately I can't attach my screenshot as I have already updated my driver from Asus provided Intel 32.0.101.5768 to the generic driver from Intel 32.0.101.6881, but I found a screenshot on the internet that shows the exact same problem I had before I updated my graphics driver.

I don't know which version Intel fixed this issue on, but versions 32.0.101.6874 and 32.0.101.6881 do not have this issue.

I wish Asus would ship graphics drivers more often instead of once a year. Using generic drivers is very inconvenient, considering that, as I wrote above, after each cumulative update, Windows Update downgrades the graphics driver without asking, installing the one that is in the Microsoft update database, i.e. the one provided by Asus.

I replied to you, but my reply disappeared.
