In April I purchased a Chromebook C425 for my 78 year old mother. She had been using a Windows PC for years. I trained her on how to use it and she used it for about 6 weeks. Then she began having "Chromebook os is missing or damaged". I created a Chrome Flex install USB that was suitable for this hardware and reinstalled. Repeatedly, she kept crashing it. Now she does not trust it, but I have been using it at home and it has not happened to me. I don't know what she is doing to kill it. She does like to turn it off when she is finished using it, whereas I will normally just allow screenlock to secure it. Does anyone know what might be happening? Is it her turning the computer off that is causing the problem?

If you haven't experienced any issues in your usage, I would recommend trying to discuss your mother's regular operating habits to clarify the potential causes of the problem. For example, improper closing of programs or shutting down methods. Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.
