Detailed description:
On one hand, I'm thankful to not be alone here. On the other hand... I know that means some of you are in the same painful situation...
The WiFi option occasionally vanishes from the quick menu at the right, and no, it's not hidden away... It's gone.
As soon as the computer tried to do anything, it would freeze and BSOD with the same error. I didn't need to browse crash logs to guess that the BSOD was from the MediaTek driver. I read online that it could've also been a ssd thing, but that doesn't seem to be the case since both internal and external drives work fine.
So what have I done?
Reset the OS - It booted back up without a wifi option, but it hasn't crashed since.
MyASUS - Completely useless. "Something's being done about the WiFi"? No secret update to install, nothing changes.
Update Driver - Would be nice if it was listed to begin with.
Install/Reinstall Driver - The Driver listed on the ASUS website for my model is the Intel LAN Driver. Didn't work, but it wasn't really going to, was it? Got redirected to the Lenovo website on one occasion. That didn't work either.
Hold Power Button for 60 seconds - I was skeptical, but I recall having done something similar when my Bluetooth adapter had a similar hissy fit. Only worked as a temporarily solution since the WiFi option was gone within a few minutes.
Professionally Serviced / Get a new Laptop - I really don't have the money for that right now and the computer is totally fine besides the missing WiFi error.
[Technically...] I can still use the internet on this laptop because my WiFi extender has an Ethernet option. I don't intend for it to be the permanent solution since a missing WiFi adapter might cause another flurry of BSOD soon. If there is such a legendary driver version or a magical patch that'll fix everything, please get it public ASAP.

no blue screen for me, but cannot start device code 10, and have tried all the tricks including older drivers. stuck with it on device manager as not useable
After I did a reset (one which let me keep files), I haven't gotten a BSOD since. Every time I get a driver installed, it's removed within minutes.

Please confirm whether the Wi-Fi device in the device manager is normal, and whether the Wi-Fi device is disconnected or not, or an exclamation mart appears.
If the exclamation mart appears, please connect the AC adapter,
a. Update MediaTek WLAN Driver first (V3.00.01.1244 or above)
b. Update MediaTek Bluetooth Driver again (V1.3.15.142 or above)
c. Reboot the laptop
** If the exclamation mart does not appear, please remove the AC adapter, press the power button for 30 seconds to force shutting down, and then restart to confirm that the wireless network card is back to normal. Afterwards, please follow the steps above to re-install the WLAN/Bluetooth drivers to confirm.

Where would I find drivers with those version numbers?
MyASUS shows the following:
MediaTek WLAN Driver V3.00.01.1207
MediaTek Bluetooth Driver V1.3.14.132
Also, every time I try to install a driver, Device Manager doesn't seem to do anything with it, installing on 0 devices.

You can refer to the following operations.
Method 2: Search and download Drivers, Utilities, BIOS, and User Manuals from ASUS official site.

Looking up the device by model name, the ASUS official website gave me the exact same driver version numbers. Unless I'm supposed to look up a different model name and get that driver, what am I to do?

I have forwarded the information to the relevant department. We will keep you updated and your consideration will be very much appreciated.
After a random windows update, my WiFi adapter has updated to V3.0.1.1336. It also cannot see any nearby networks.

If your situation is that the network card has not disappeared, but the wireless network signal around the environment cannot be found. I would suggest you bring back your laptop to our service center.

It's a driver issue. That driver won't let me view any networks but the other drivers don't work at all.. There's a driver version that does work, right?
This problem drove me nuts. It's the Bluetooth driver that causes it. The solution required:
Hope this helps, wasted half a day debugging this, really annoying, hate the way windows isn't smart enough to use the latest driver for the Bluetooth or tries one of it's own that doesn't work.

Sorry, the steps I provided are mainly for the disappearance of the wireless network card hardware. After that, the user needs to reboot the laptop and install the driver to use it.
If your problem is that you can't find the wireless network signal around you , I would suggest you bring back your laptop to our service center.

The wireless adapter is indeed gone again.

Decent Idea, Didn't Work. WiFi option still missing from the task bar and the BSODs have started reoccuring. Going to power it down and try again, but if this is anything like the last time, the WiFi uninstall it's own driver before I can update it.
So, the driver update didn't install because the version that I have currently installed is V3.00.01.1336.
Still didn't work. I could remove all the drivers and attempt reinstalling 1244.
More interesting news. Uninstalled 1336 since that version potentially might've been a rogue driver. Driver immediately reinstalled itself with a different version number.
V3.3.0.541
Updating the Driver again did nothing.
This isn't helping... at all...
You want to know what V3.00.01.1244 did when i finally got it installed?
It worked for a solid two minutes, then bricked my laptop into another BSOD.
When the laptop rebooted, the driver had promptly removed itself and the adapter remains missing.
...
Either you have the answer or you don't. Stop sending me bugged drivers, and no, I'm not paying an arm and a limb for service. Last time I did that, I got back a wiped harddrive and a 'Sorry' with no refund.
I suppose destroying my computer is one of those inconveniences that you're sorry for?
