gosu38Nope, I am using A12, however I have signed up for the beta. Not sure if that matters anymore as A12 was officially released.Your are using Android 11? On Android 12 still November Path.
Because LineageOS is a paid and commercial institution that makes money on its products. Unlike Asus, which is a no profit and charitable company 😉

andreesculYup, I got it via OTA. Idk, I would expect the company to be a month late on the security updates, but Asus is regularly on 2-3 months behind. I would probably go for LOS, but I am afraid of the ramdump issue.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/205156#Comment_205156
Did you get it via OTA? Because I had to install it manually.
As to LineageOS - it can afford it because the responsibility for serious bugs and failures in updates (and I have seen quite a few in my many years of using LOS on quite a few devices) is on the users. I would not want Asus to treat my Z8 the way LOS developers (God bless them!) treat my Sony XZ1c and XZ2c, my Cubot mini, my Xiaomi Mi Max 3 etc.
This being said, the update (v92) is underwhelming. My A12 works well, but the minor issues I had (such as the green color of Google apps and widgets, or the low headphone volume etc.) have not been solved.

cicagorioI was never 2-3 months behind on A11. I would frequently receive 2 updates a month. It seems to be a transition to A12 phenomenon.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/205167#Comment_205167

andreesculIt is either that or the phenomenon of aging. I guess Asus will be dropping a new zenfone in a few months so their focus has shifted, as I would assume the sales of zenfone 8 are down as well given how long it is on the market.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/205200#Comment_205200

Gustav_ASUSEhhhh..... Yesterday ASUS rolled out updates for A11 as well as for A12 users, but why didn't You aply the latest security patch, especially when it fixes so many important bugs in security level of Android?!? 😕 How can we securily use our devices in the age of mobile banking, etc. with politics like that??? WHEN can we expect faster security level updates from You???? Just please, DO sth about it ASAP !@Blumi I'll paste the same comment I made in a different thread on the same subject, concerning Zenfone 8 A11:
We are currently keeping the Zenfone 8 Android 12 FOTA rollout on hold, after receiving reports of system issues encountered by some users. Our team is currently hard at work resolving these issues, and we plan to resume the FOTA process as soon as we have a more stable version ready for distribution.
Depending on how long this takes, we will roll out another A11 update with the latest Android security patch.
For users that want to manually update their devices to Android 12, we provide a manual update file on the Zenfone 8 support web page: https://www.asus.com/Mobile/Phones/ZenFone/Zenfone-8/HelpDesk_BIOS/
(If you run into any issues after upgrading your device to Android 12, please refer to the downgrade package that can be found on the support web page. Please make sure to backup any personal data before you start the downgrade process.)
