Detailed description:
After installing a driver update attempting to resolve a USB drive not being read, I am unable to charge the laptop. It must have been the wrong driver. In the device manager under USB Connector Managers, it shows UCM-UCSI ACPI device has a code 43. Something strange is that the driver for the usb connector says its from 2006.
with the help of ASUS support, I have attempted numerous fixes with no success including:
- hard reset (60 second power button)
- updating driver (says up to date)
- rolling back driver (not an option)
- uninstalling usb connector manager driver and hard reset
- reinstalling battery driver
- unable to update bios because it needs to be charging
- system restore (restore point was from the night before when i was updating both graphics driver and usb driver
The battery is about 50% charged now and I'm getting very nervous to continue guess and check methods.
