ASUS Vivobook S 14 Flip (TP3402) battery drain problem after shut down

Dear Asus,

I have a problem with my new Asus S 14 flip. There is battery drain after shut down - around 5% per 5 days. After month and a half battery is fully discharged and laptop is unable to switch on. I have to connect it to charger to make it possible to switch it on.

I think it is against user manual in which we can find on p.13 in "Standard battery care" section:

"If you are not using your device for a long period of time, ensure to charge the battery power to 50% then power off your device and disconnect AC power adapter. Recharge the battery power to 50% every three months to avoid over-discharging prevent damage to the battery"

I can't follow this statement because after 1,5 month my battery is fully discharge.

Dear Asus  … I have two questions:

  • Is it normal or my laptop is out of order and I should send it to local Asus service?
  • Have you got any standards of accepted battery drains after shut down? If yes then what is the highest accepted battery drain level?

PS All tests in MyAsus app are positive.

Best Regards,

Greg

Dear Falcon_ASUS,

I have updated MyAsus app, all drivers and BIOS.

I think you missunderstood me.

I would kindly ask you to answer just only one simple question:

  • Has Asus got any internal company standards of accepted battery drains after shut-down? If yes then what is the highest accepted battery drain level?

Thank you in advance,

Greg

@grgczyz
Regarding the model you are using, the battery drain data when the device is turned off, I have requested the technical department to confirm.
If there is any update, I will reply to you immediately.
Thank you.

Dear Falcon_ASUS,

I think it would be the best if you simply forward my question about "accepted battery drain standard after shut-down" to technical department.

I look forward to the answer.

Best Regards,
Greg

Dear Falcon_ASUS ... if such standards are not for public, then simply answer what is highest accepted (by Asus ) value of battery drain after shut-down for my particular model of laptop. You can always send the answer to my e-mail.

I would just like to know if it makes sense to send my laptop to the local Asus service.

Thanks,

Greg

@grgczyz
After confirmation by our tech team, it has been verified that in a powered-off state (with AC adapter disconnected), the battery discharge, including the power consumed by the motherboard itself, is approximately 1-2% over a 24-hour period. Therefore, the condition you reported is considered a normal phenomenon and does not require repairs. Thank you.
