Do all versions (in all markets) of ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED M1505YA-OLED-L511 have the sodimm slot that can be used to extend the system RAM to 16GB from original 8GB, is 16GB maximum and when extended will it be dual channel? Or is there a version with the same name that it is capped at 8GB and cannot be extended?
Thank you.

@MasterM
Your laptop already has one onboard memory , and there is only one replaceable memory slot can be used.
Regarding this replaceable memory slot, it supports up to 8GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM.
If you want to upgrade to 16GB memory, we cannot guarantee its stability and compatibility with you.
Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.

** If the motherboard is damaged when replacing the memory, it will affect the warranty.
If you can't replace it yourself, please bring the laptop and the parts you would like to install to our service center and let our engineers install it for you.

I don't understand, is 8gb of ram that comes with the laptop soldered to the motherboard or in the only one existing sodimm slot where you can put new memory?

Also is there any reason, that you know of, why upgrading to 16gb wouldn't work or be unstable...?

Thanks.

@MasterM
Yes, as mentioned in the previous response, this laptop's motherboard already has onboard memory, and there is only one slot available for user-installable/replacement memory. Since we have only tested with 8GB memory, we cannot guarantee the stability and compatibility of using larger memory modules after replacement. Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.
