Hi everyone. I've a WI-Fi 7 router GT-BE98 Pro running firmware 3.0.0.6.102_34491-ge5d05d6_621-g39ad8_BA08. The router has Smart Connect enabled with 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, 6Ghz-1 and 6Ghz-2. I've experienced the following problems in the last few days:
- Out of sudden, the 5Ghz just stopped working. The 5Ghz LED light on the router was OFF.
- Out of sudden, the Smart Connect SSID just stopped working (2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, 6Ghz-1 and 6Ghz-2 LEF all remained ON). All the clients were unable to see the SSID in the wireless network list.
I had to reboot the router to restore connectivity. Any advice? Thank you.

Hi @SCSG @Lionreyes,
Thank you for contacting our support team.
We understand that you're experiencing issues with your 5GHz band suddenly stopping working, the LED light turning off, and the Smart Connect SSID disappearing.
To better assist you in resolving this issue, we recommend that you gather as much information as possible about the incident when it first occurred.
This includes:
- Time of occurrence: The exact time when the problem first appeared.
- Device status: Were there any other devices or functions behaving abnormally?
- Recent changes: Had you made any changes to the device, such as firmware updates or setting changes, prior to the issue?
We recommend collecting this information because it will help us analyze the root cause of the problem.
If you have already restarted the device, some system information may have been reset, which could make it difficult for us to conduct a thorough investigation.
Providing us with these details will help us locate your issue more quickly.
Thank you.

The problem I experienced
- All SSIDs would disappear (2.4Ghz, 5Ghz and 6Ghz) and client end points would not see the SSIDs and WiFi would not work
- On the GT-BE98 Pro, all LEDs remained ON (but WiFi not working, SSIDs disappeared)
- Wired connections remained working
For the questions you asked:
- I don't know the exact time when the problem appeared (as I am mostly on wired and there is no issue with wired). I realized it only when someone informed, or I manually checked Wi-Fi connectivity.
- I added 2x RT-BE92U AiMesh nodes to the GT-BE98 Pro AiMesh router. When the problem happened yesterday morning (i.e. all SSIDs disappeared and Wi-Fi stopped working), I powered on one of the RT-BE92Us (both the RT-BE92U were powered off overnight), all the SSIDs came back, and WiFi connectivity restored.
- No other changes made. The GT-BE98 Pro and 2x RT-BE92U are running the latest firmware available.
How to capture the necessary info/logs since the problem is random/intermittent?
Note: I submitted system log, general log, WiFi log yesterday from the Feedback tab inside the router WebGUI when the problem happened yesterday morning.

I am having the same problem. The only way to fix it is to power cycle the router. When I look in the log, I notice that the time/date is reset to December at 00:00. It’s definitely software related. Hoping a future firmware update resolves this. Because it goes down at 2am every other week. Very inconvenient if I am away from home and can’t reach the network.
