Problem with B760M-PLUS WIFI M.2 SSD RAID setup

Hi.

I have 3 M.2 SSDs in my B760M-PLUS WIFI II motherboard - 500GB in M.2_1 (C:\ boot disk) and 1TB in each of M.2_2 and M.2_3 with the intention of setting up the 2 1TB drives as RAID 1.

I followed the instructions at [Motherboard]How to create Intel 600 or 700 series MB RAID in BIOS Setup but when I reboot I get a blue screen with Stop code: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.

Going back into the BIOS there's conflicting information. RAID Volumes is OK:

Boot configuration is OK, I think:

But , as you can see,  under Storage Information, the boot drive is listed under RAID.

Any suggestions please?

Hello @dch53

Thank you for reaching out to us, and sorry for any inconvenience caused by the delayed response.
Upon reviewing the Storage section of the TUF GAMING B760M-PLUS WIFI II Tech Specs, we can confirm that this model supports only SATA RAID and does not support NVMe RAID. Therefore, the issue you encountered after configuring a RAID array using M.2 SSDs is expected behavior for TUF GAMING B760M-PLUS WIFI II.

If you require a RAID setup, we recommend referring to the same FAQ and first deleting the current RAID configuration. Afterward, please try using SATA SSDs instead to verify the results.

Thank you.

Interesting you should say that about the TUF GAMING B760M-PLUS WIFI II lack of support for NVMe RAID.

I ended up contacting ASUS Australia Support and was told return the motherboard for replacement.

Given the time it took to build this fanless music server, with all it's passive heat-sinking, and the risks involved with removing, storing and replacing the CPU, memory and hard drives, I decided not to bother.

Just as well!
