I purchased a Zenbook S16 (UM5606WA) laptop last year. This laptop has already been in for repairs once because you could not start it. This was sorted. Unfortunately it has happened again. And I'm understandably annoyed.
In both cases it happened after a Windows restart. What I believe happened is that Windows blocked the restart and the laptop ran for an extended period. In both cases the laptop was physically hot to the touch; uncomfortably so. My hypothesis is that this triggered a thermal protection. Unfortunately this protection has not been reset even after letting it cool down.
I've tried the various support FAQs that involved holding down the power button for 40s. I've tried various combination of holding down the power button. Unfortunately none have resolved the problem.
Bluntly this is a faulty product.

Thank you for the response.
I've tried the Troubleshooting steps provided numerous times (tried again) with no success.
I would highlight that this information isn't in the manual. Nor is there any guidance if this device needs a power button press for 20s or 40s.
Regarding the overheating. I'm pretty certain that this is the cause. The device however should have thermal protection which should reset.

An update. The laptop has now been sitting with a ASUS appoint service agent for 4 days. Still no word. Disappointing that a high end laptop has spent ~15% of its life sitting on a technician's desk. I expected more and have serious doubts about the quality.
