As us Vivobook 16 X OLED Dial Agent preventing shutdown

  1. System: win 11
  2. Battery or AC: Both
  3. Model: VivoBook 16X OLED
  4. Frequency of occurrence: All the time upon shutdown
  5. Reset OS: yes

Detailed description:upon trying to shut the laptop down I always get this message “Asus Dial Agent preventing Shutdown”

I tried factory reset which reinstalled the Win 11 OS, but it did not help.

kindly suggest solutions. Thanks!

    I'm experiencing the same  “Asus Dial Agent preventing Shutdown” snafu also. This happens on every shutdown.

    Per you request Falcon, below are the Laptop and firmware Specs:

    Asus ProArt Studio model h7600hm.

    -Windows 11 Pro 64 bit10.022000, Version 21H2

    -Bios HM7600HM.306

    FYI, this shutdown error will occur even if the DialPad hasn't been used or opened with other apps...Lightroom or Photoshop, etc. It seems it loads in the background upon booting and stays open until shutdown.

    After roughly 5 or 6 seconds the system will close AsusDialAgent and the laptop will shutdown, fortunately. On other occasions, instead of AsusDialAgent, it's AsusDialPad that prevent shutdown.

    Any ideas? Or is this DialPad coding problem?

    May I ask whether the system you are currently using has been re-installed by yourself, or is it the original system?

    Please help to confirm, if you remove MyASUS, ASUS System Control Interface and ASUS Control Panel, and then reinstall it, will the situation improve?

    If the problem still exists, please help provide the version of the following app you are currently using.

    1.MyASUS

    2.ASUS System Control Interface

    3.ASUS Control Panel (ASUS Control Panel Toolkit、ProArt Creator Hub、ProArt Creator Hub Service)

    When I reset the laptop, all original Asus applications were reinstalled including My Asus, Asus System control Interface and Asus Control panel. However, the shutdown problem did not go away which is why I reset Windows through Windows 11 Recovery!

  • Computer reset didn't resolve the issue for moby unfortunately. So I think I'll pass on doing the same.

    One additional bit of info - if I disable AsusDial in ProArt Creator Hub (under Control Settings) then the computer will shutdown normally. Enabling it again and the problem returns.

  • I'm also having the same issue, I tried resetting windows 2 times (including cloud reinstall). Tried uninstalling and reinstalling all Asus software and still, the same issue happens.

    Also, please confirm what BIOS and system version are you currently using.

  • UPDATE 09/20/22 - ProArt Studio h7600hm laptop updated to:

    Windows 22H2

    OS Version: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 64-bit 10.0.22621 (Build version 2261)

    note: update to the latest version of Windows did not resolve the AsusDialAgent shutdown problem.
