I have a Zenbook 2024 OLED with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H. My issue is that the CPU reaches 100°C after just 5 seconds at 100% load, even when the ambient temperature is ZERO°C and the laptop is elevated to allow for better airflow. The chassis obviously feels freezing cold, but the throttling is exaggerated: even at 0°C, after a few seconds at full load, the CPU stabilizes at around 2800MHz and the temperatures at around 80°C.
Naturally, at normal temperatures (around 20°C indoors), the situation worsens further.
After speaking with another user who has the same laptop with the Core Ultra 9 185H, it seems that their device doesn't behave this drastically. (I’m attaching test photos taken at 0°C).
Is there a specific test I can run to get precise reference values? To measure CPU usage, clock speed, and temperatures... so I can figure out if my laptop has an issue before sending it in for service?
I understand that a Zenbook is not designed to dissipate a lot of heat, but my situation is somewhere between scary and ridiculous, isn't it?
Is there anyone with the same notebook who can provide me with some reference points?
Thank you everyone
