Main battery and CMOS both apparently dead.

Hi all. I was away on a work trip and my normal routine is to plug out the power cable and then close the lid which sends my Zenbook 13 Flip to sleep mode. This time it just went straight off when I pulled the cable. The battery icon says 68% but it never goes up or down, and BatteryMon say the capacity is now only 11,000kWh and nothing is going in or out of the battery. It still just instantly powers off when I pull the cable, as if there is no battery.

I tried the standard ideas like reinstalling the battery driver and long power button presses and they did nothing.

I also now seem to have to manually set my clock. Not only is the time wrong when I start my laptop but "Set the time automatically" does nothing and Synchronize your clock gives Time synchronization failed.

Is it possible that BOTH main batter and the CMOS went at the same time? I ordered a new battery before I noticed the clock problem, so I hope I haven't wasted my time.

Any advice appreciated, this laptop is out of warranty and about three years old.

And now another problem which I thought had gone away has resurfaced. I used to plug my Asus into the USB-C hub with the lid closed, which apparently causes overheating and often at boot it would say it couldn't find a bootable drive. This has started happening again even with the lid wide open. I don't know if it's the 2-3 reboots makes it OK or I pick it up and give it a few taps on the bottom.
I can't believe this laptop has so many hardware problems and it's a real pity as it's lovely to use when running OK (which is little comfort I guess).
