Asus Laptop X555QA - Display goes off when AC power is removed

My older ASUS laptop X555QA , for a few years now, the display stays on when AC is plugged in. With battery only no display. Battery is fully charged and also with a new battery the no display problems persists. No difference with Windows 10 or 11. This appears to be, not a unique problem. Has anyone solved this issue and what is the solution?

@WR61
Based on your description, it appears that there may be an issue with the connection between the battery module and the motherboard. I would recommend sending it for repairs for further investigation.

Also you can contact the local service center for help.

Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.

Thank you for your comment and knowledge. I just used the HDMI to connect to an external monitor. The battery mode worked on the external display. Does this change your analysis? Any more thoughts?

I did however have to position the icon arrow on the external display selection first, so I could blindly press enter when the AC power was unplugged and external monitor was plugged into the laptop.

Due to encountering the same issue across different systems, it is possible that the problem leans more towards hardware rather than software. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thanks for followup.

The 'no display' issue seems to be on my laptop display only when on battery. On AC power my laptop display works fine. On battery only and connected via hdmi to external monitor that external display works.
