Updating drivers, is it worth it?

I noticed that sites like catalog.update.microsoft.com or nvidia.com\intel.com have more recent drivers for NVIDIA\Intel\Realtek\MediaTek\etc.

All my drivers were installed automatically after installing the OS and connecting to the Internet.
Many of them correspond to the versions that are on the ASUS website for my laptop model.

I would like to hear the opinion of users and developers, is it worth updating your drivers to newer versions?
What could be the problems/consequences?
Or should I continue to adhere to the rule that it is worth using only those drivers that are indicated for my model on the ASUS website?
