Asus Zenwifi Ax Xt8

Star I

Hello, I recently bought an Asus Zenwifi Ax Xt8 - the thing is that the node, although is close to the router, keeps dropping from 5.2ghz to 2.4ghz reducing the speed significantly. I have literally tried everything from app and on web interface nothing seems to work. Its stays for few hours at 5.2ghz after optimisation then drops back again 2.4.
latest firmer installed.
would appreciate the help!! Thanks

Please check HW Ver # on SN sticker.  Ver 1 and Ver 2 have different BIOS.  Try to flash latest version manually.

Its V2, the updates are done automatically on the app. It is the latest firmware. Not sure what is happening

I’ve read this exact same response prior.  My concern is ASUS makes the same BIOS for both:

3.0.0.4.388.23285

48.5 MB for Ver 1

48.98 MB for Ver 2

I wish they make the last digit different so I could trust I got the correct version but no they are the exact same:

EDIT:

Simply doing something like last digit Ver 1 is 1, last digit for Ver 2 is 2, would very simply clear my concern, for example

3.0.0.4.388.2328(1) for Ver 1 *end in 1 for all Ver 1 BIOS*

3.0.0.4.388.2328(2) for Ver 2 *end in 2 for all Ver 2 BIOS*

would alleviate my concern…

Hi @Miz93 ,

based on your issue, may I ask whether you're using wired or wireless connect?

Are both your router and node using XT8?

It is suggest that you use wired connect to confirm whether the issue still persist.

Have you try hard reset the router and the node?
