Very annoying vibration issue

On my Max Pro (M2) while I am calling the phone vibrates very annoyingly. I found that from calling screen, the phone often turns to battery option screen. Unwillingly I set some option with my face. If I press on/off button before closing the phone to my ear the problem reduces a lot: still vibrates, but doesn't switch to battery option screen. I have. 73 build.

That random vibration during a call happens to every Max Pro M2 users and it happens only when you are on a call talking through the earpiece speaker and it feels like its vibrating because our cheek is touching the screen. Right??
Well, its a very well known bug and we all reported this issue for months now which Asus never acknowledged especially Asus moderators never responded carefully on this issue. And as you said, if we press the power button once to turn on the screen and then turn off the screen by pressing the power button during a call, that vibration issue happens little less. Asus hasn't recognized or acknowledged this annoying issue and they didn't fix it either. It started happening after Pie Upgrade. We can only hope that the issue might get fixed with the Stable Android 10 version.
Thank you Sanju. I confirm every your word.
I tried to search in this messy new app., but found anything.
Thank you.
You are most welcome.. 🙂
I also had this issue, when 'double tap to turn screen on' was enabled. Can you try switching that off and see if phone vibrates on call screen?
Hi il Santo,
Could you show us a screenshot/picture of the battery option screen?
Does this happen only with the preloaded phone app? Or does it appear on other third party apps as well?
Thank you 🙂
If you mean battery app, I use only the O. S. feature. So I think a screenshot isn't very useful but I will post as soon as I will take.
I confirm I have double tap active but not the O. S. feature, but the one in Microsoft's Lau her (I replaced the factory version with that)
Can you disable double tap option from Microsoft launcher too and check if it's happening again?
Forget about Microsoft launcher, I have the the stock launcher only but it still vibrates during a call if holding at ear. If double tap to wake gesture is to blame for this issue and if the fix for this annoying issue is to turn off the "double tap to wake" option, then that would be a big excuse only. Why should I disable a feature to fix another issue?? Is this a phone or what? Like in the summer, everyday if you put your phone on Charging during day time and the phone temperature during charging goes beyond 43°C, the charging gets stuck at 69%/72%/74% and charging light starts toggling green and red, and the only fix for that annoying issue is to charge the phone by switching it off..!! No real fixes, just some home made remedies..!! Funny but this phone is really an absolute pain man..!!
Here is your screenshot
It's only a temporary solution. That's what I'm doing right now. I wish I've never updated to 0.73. I was on Oreo over a year! Still regretting:(
Yes, the Pie Upgrade seriously ruined the experience with this phone and numerous bugs keep coming on a continuous note and many of them Asus couldn't be able to adress properly.
I disabled both and made little tests. For now the issue hasn't presented again, though tests were not thorough.
But if this is the solution... well men, on my ZenFone 2 (ml551) never had this trouble and was one of my favourite feature.
Come on, devise a solution please :it's just absurd to have trouble with newer phones and not having with old ones. ZenFone 2 is on Android 6! Do you remeber?
After more testing, I found Microsoft launcher doesn't interfere with my issue. The troublesome option is only the double tap built in the firmware
The only way to avoid is to disable ' double tap to wake'. I've disabled that since Oreo update.
Don't forget that you can always use the swipe from the bottom to the top to turn on the display, this gesture also works with the beta of android 10
"Swipe up on home button" works in Pie too. And yeah, in Pie also, you can turn on your screen by Swiping up by enabling that gesture.
Thanks for confirming the same Massy. I just tried to same and it worked. Now to stop that annoying vibration during in-call holding at ear, we could disable the "Double tap to wake" gesture and achieve the same purpose by enabling the "Swipe up on home button" gesture. 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes exactly and it works better than the double tap to wake up.
I deactivated this function (double tap to wake) almost immediately because it often turned on screen by itself when it was in the hand.
I feel the urge to say that with. 75 firmware th issue seems resolved
Have you tested it thoroughly? Because I disabled the double tap to wake thing to get rid of it. Will check then.. 👍🏻
With normal calls seems they have solved. With Whatsapp's voice calls the issue still remain but is far less annoying than before.
Sanju, keep in mind than my firmware is .75 WW. I don't if the indian version is exactly the same.
