Incorrect Serial Number

Detailed description:
Bought a new ASUS Wireless Router RT-AX58U.
Try to register with included serial number N1|G2Y400645SM9 and every time - no matter if I try through the website or through the app, I get an error message stating "serial number incorrect!"
What am I supposed to do in order to register my product? This is ridiculous.
