Hi, I have a couple laptops whose model name is X415MA.
An additional 2.5" drive can be installed inside this model, but unfortunately the laptop package doesn't include the necessary ffc cable for this, so I searched for the cable's specifications and this is what I found on a supposedly 'official ASUS partner' website in the past, for this exact laptop model:
HDD connection cable for Asus Laptop
HDD flat cable features :
- Type : FFC HDD
- Length : 8.5 cm
- Connectors : 10 Pins
SKU : HDDFFC10PX409-2
P/N : 04022-00080000
The price was rather high back when I found this so I didn't place an order immediately, and now I've been searching for this item on online market places for some time, and it turns out there is another ffc cable with a different serial number, namely 'dd0x18hd011', which is said to be compatible with some laptops made by HP, but whose pictures look pretty much the same; in particular, the number of pins is also exactly 10. I'm attaching one picture of it below:
Since this latter cable tends to be less expensive than the exact model which is said to be compatible with X415MA, I'd like to order some of these if possible.
So, will this cable be compatible with my laptops? Or is there a possibility the the pins are wired differently?
I'd appreciate it if some experienced users will give me some insight with regards to this matter.
Thank you.
