For this kind of issue, you need to visit a service center.
Kindly visit the nearest service center:
Due to the lockdown, service centers may not be functional. Kindly call the service center before you visit one.

I suggest u to w8 for a week bcuz their will be fota update regarding this overheating issue, after fota if the problem still persists then take it to service center
Yeah mods probs dont know. Latest update caused a bug which made the CPU stay at 2.97Ghz which caused the overheating and battery drain.
Fix is out next week its just waiting on CTS.
Try a factory reset before taking it to service center because they will do it otherwise. Dont forget to backup your data such as contacts and important photos before factory reset. Also you might want to downgrade your device before bothering about service center. Asus updates are really buggy so that might be the update messing with you phone.
Mods know nothing here LOL..normal users is more updated about new bug in latest update but these mods are so dumb
Swaraj did asus team know about this overheating issue
Yeah bcuz the recent update is causing cpu spikes thus causing overheating and battery drain , but before getting this recent update i have seen other users facing this problem too
Asus is really sending defective models or not i do not know bcuz i have seen many threads where mods are suggesting hardware replacement
I recommend u to w8 until the fix for cpu spike is released in this week
After updating, if the problem still persists try hard reset n then soft reset bcuz i had air trigger problems n it got solved like that so it might be worth trying (do not forget to backup your data but don't backup ur settings) n even after doing these steps if the problem still exists than @Anders_ASUS, @CH_ASUS, @LP_ASUS one of these mods might send u log tool to investigate ur problem n check if its software bug or hardware n after verifying from them they will let u know weather to visit service center for hardware replacement or its a software bug which can be fixed.
Also for temporary solution for now , check ur cpu in Armoury crate, if its showing u 2.96ghz then goto playstore n disable auto update
Reboot ur device n check Armoury crate again to see ur cpu is lowered or not
Then clear ur memory n scan for powermaster n close the running apps.
Hope this helps :)
Please don't give the wrong advice. The only way this bug is connected to the REAL issue is that the bug revealed a hardware issue which can only be caused by faulty hardware.
Your post is made on the assumption that we don't know. But we know much more than you think. Which is why we see things that normal users don't. His device overheating is caused by the bug, that is true. But that's not the real issue here. The issue is that his phone shuts down and this is caused by faulty hardware.
My shut down issue is solved after downgrading my device to android 9. Can you explain that? I tested this after having my device up for more than 27 hours.
Good point.
Its definitely possible. Most hardware you see processors, etc have thousands of design bugs. But some of those can be masked with software. So the faulty hardware will never be exposed to the user.
Faulty hardware only if my hardware was ever faulty. I once submitted my device to service center and they confirmed that my HARDWARE WAS NOT FAULTY. In the paper they wrote that my hardware was not faulty and they did a factory reset as a fix. I was still facing the sound delay issue and the service center told me to wait for new update for that fix. Few months back i faced the shutdown issue while charging but it vanished after days of usage. Now after updating to latest firmware i again faced that issue and then i downgraded and the issue is forever gone like it never happened. What does that indicate? My issue was solved after downgrading and now my google assistant works fine.
Then they should replace your device. I'm also irritated with their software
Lmao what he clearly meant is its software issue not hardware issue, so replacing device wont be any good.
Yes bro mine have same problem.. asus always fails to give stable updates... @asus team change your software engineers..

The mods said sudden restarts are hardware issue and service center says the hardware is okay. So I said they should replace the device if they cannot be sure if the hardware is okay.
Oh u meant it in that way. 🤔
But still i cant stop laughing on asus
They are fighting among themselves blaming on eachother saying hardware issue n software issue but not trying to fix it
