Notifications aren't dismissed automatically!

I've noticed something that I have no idea if it's a bug or just normal behavior of Android 13:

Once I receive notifications for Gmail, Whatsapp, telegram and other apps, if I don't click on the notification to open the message and instead I just open Gmail (as an example) directly and read the unread messages, the notifications related to Gmail don't disappear!

Is it normal and I must dismiss notifications directly?

I just noticed the only one to dismiss read notifications (read through the related app directly) is to restart the phone. After restart, those read notifications are gone.

I witness the same from the app 'Loop Habit Tracker'. However, not all notifications behave like this. For instance, only the ones that appear during DND mode remain intact, even though I directly mark/read them in the app.
