Just asking as I see Asus tries all the hard they can but is still really late with OS release and rollouts as per the trend.

That's not true. Asus never answered.
Zenfone usually update OS once only.
You will see.

pipsss81Battery will last if I take into trend of earlier smartphone manufactured by themI am skeptical about 3rd OS update. More is not always better. I rather see Asus polish last version (13 for ZF8) and just make security updates longer. Android 14 will release in 2024, maybe few months sooner. I doubt battery will last till then.

I had zenfone 2 which lasted me for 4 years without any battery issue and then current zenfone 5z is still holding strong since a little more than 3 years now
Zenfone 5z is giving me an sot of 5 to 5 and half hrs at present
One thing which made me a Fan of Asus smartphone is that they mostly don't use cheap materials and parts which makes them durable

Aryan202Thanks for sharing the linkhttps://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/177403#Comment_177403
Regarding second part of your comment
As of now there's no info if Asus will increase software support period this is something even mods don't know about, only the upper management of Asus mobile knows about this or can take this decision
So basically just expect 2 os upgrades and 3yrs of patches of Zenfone 8 unless Asus states otherwise
In the meantime you can vote and comment in this thread:
https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/47983/support-extension-for-3-years-on-zenfones
Gotta see what requests Asus accepts from that thread

abhineet150That is good to know. Can you answer me few things about you old phones? Did you charge them to 100% regularly? Can you test battery capacity and most important, max charging voltages. Max charging voltages can be measured when phone is charging and is over 90% full. Good application for measuring those two things is Accubattery.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/177417#Comment_177417

I am asking this, because max charging voltage on ZF8 is extremely high for Lithium battery. Usually more than 4.3V is bad and ZF8 charge to 4.45V!

Check whether you are able to derive the points your are looking for
And Yes I charge it to 100 perecent once daily at night only. otherewise durng day time I charge it to around 50 to 60 % when I need to get juice out of it for performing tasks and watching multimedia but that is not everyday and only happens twice a week
