Wide Angle camera freezes frequently

Firmware Version: WW-18.0610.2104.145
Rooted or not: Not
Frequency of Occurrence: Every other time
APP Name & APP Version (If your issue relates to the app):

It is very annoying and embarrassing to see that the wide angle camera is recently struggling, whenever I am switching to normal to wide,, the display freezes. And it does not work. At times if it works, switch to front flip and it is gone, te wide angle cam is no more functional. . Only displays the first glance what camera sees initially and then freezes the screen, only optn is to go back and restart the cam. Please please look into this. PS - tried with Gcam as well

Wide Angle camera freezes frequently

Please go for SIMMI test to verify if it's hardware or software
Open calculator > press > .12345+= > single test > wide angled camera capture test > check if test pass or fails.
If test pass then factory reset should help in your case, but if test fails than its a hardware issue for which you need to take your device to nearest service centre for further examination.

Hi, we'd request you follow the below steps:
1. Clear cache & storage of Camera App after backing up & disable/re-enable camera App
2. Try the same under safe mode:
Hold the power button for 5 seconds => When the screen flashes with option => Press & hold power option => You will get an option to restart in safe mode 
3. If still you face the issue factory reset your phone after taking a full backup:  https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1006346/
4. Last option would be to visit the service center to have a check. Locate here: https://www.asus.com/in/support/Service-Center/India
