I have an issue with the camera of my zenfone 10 that I can't figure out how to fix or avoid. It is incredibly annoying, and makes the camera near-unuseable. It has been an issue ever since right after I first got the phone this spring (April 2024).
When I start the camera (regardless of which settings are applied, or whether the phone is locked or unlocked), it will run fine for a little bit. However, after a few seconds in the camera mode, the camera view will occasionally black out, then turn back on after a second or so.
In the video option, when I try to record something, the recording will usually run for about 2 seconds, freeze, black out again, then close and restart the camera app, meaning my recording was interrupted. Occasionally this won't happen, but most of the time it freezes, which is incredibly frustrating.
The panorama option doesn't even work at all. As soon as I start a pano, the camera blacks out, and forgets the picture.
Like I said, I have been dealing with this for sometime, and I am tired of it. Other apps using the camera record just fine, but it's just the stock ASUS camera app that freaks out like this, which is very frustrating since I cannot change the default camera app on the zenfone 10.
I have tried restarting the phone in safe mode, resetting the camera app, clearing the cache, force stopping, restarting, and everything else I can think of, but the issue persists. Can someone link the APK for the camera app so I can try reinstalling it? No phone software update has fixed this issue.
