Dead phone after update from .73 to .110

M_K
Star II
Updated from "WW-17.1810.1910.73" to "WW-17.1810.1911.110", with ASUS website's file.
First reboot after installation: everything smooth and doing ok
Tried to turn off the phone via the power menu: phone is now dead

The display doesn't turn on.
Pressing [VOL DOWN] + [POWER] makes the phone vibrate, but nothing else happens.
Getting a green led when charging, sometimes turns orange or red, sometimes turns off when the buttons are pressed.

Any ideas on how to fix this???
I have already contacted ASUS support and currently waiting for a reply.

What a terrible situation for this time of the year...
Maybe you guys should avoid trying to reboot or turn off your phone with the current version, just saying.

Please, why do you confuse users?

It says that for someone who still has Android P / 9, they must have at least the version 194 to use update 110. He already had Android Q / 10, so he could use this update 110 without a problem.

That wasn't going well, that's another reason, probably the infamous motherboard bug.

My understanding of ASUS' website special notice was "If your version is BETWEEN .194 and Q, good to install".
Or, is the correct understanding the following: "For version .194 ONLY, good to install"?
I guess you could read the notice in both ways...
Anyway, to lower the risk of bricking my phone in the future, I will wait for OTA updates.

Sending the phone to a service center is really your only option if you cannot get the phone to boot.

When you get it back from an RMA please either update this thread or PM me what the root cause was. This is the first time I have heard of a successful firmware update and then a non-functional phone after the first reboot. I'm very curious what the repair center says.

Since the phone is two months old and under warranty, I will send it to the service center.
I will update this thread when I get my phone back (probably within a month).
I agree to what you are saying and was so surprised: being able to reboot the phone once after firmware update (with everything smooth and nice as usual), but not twice...

Thank you all for the feedbacks!

What is the meaning of the website special notice?
(1) "If you are BETWEEN version .194 and Q, good to install"
(2) "If you are version .194 ONLY, good to install"

Thank you for the confirmation.

Also, another question, not really related:
I have purchased my device on ASUS' Japan online shop (currently living in Japan).
When I was going to the "about" section of my phone, I was seeing the software version as "WW_".
In the online release notes sectionby ASUS, it is mentioning a "JP_".
Is it normal that I have never saw a mention of "JP_" in my phone?

The wall plug and warranty card are correctly Japanese.
The software available for download on ASUS Japan website are also all noted as "WW_"

It is pretty normal for Asus phones. For example I have purchased my device in Europe and when I was going to the "About" section of my phone, I was seeing the software version as "WW_" too.
See this thread too:
