Camera toolbar in third party apps

When i use camera toolbar to change the camera angle from selfie to rear in google duo without turning on Display image right side up option after the camera goes to rear position the image or video was full upside down.
But after turning on Display image right side up it was correct although the motion is different as image become right sided if you move your hand right the image or video was moving left. It's somewhat annoying the setting can be made more user friendly or why it can't be automatic like in camera app or add option to without changing the side.

Just now noticed after it is in rear position when you click the camera side change icon in the any app the mirror effect is rectified and it's back to normal.
