Hi everyone,
Since updating my Zenfone 10 to Android 15, I've been encountering random dropouts when streaming music on Tidal. Every time the music stops unexpectedly, the media player widget (the "Now Playing" display on my lock screen and in the drop-down menu) also disappears. Interestingly, I haven't experienced these issues on Spotify—it's only happening with Tidal. The only problem with Spotify is that I does not show "now playing" correctly on Bluetooth devices. Most songs and albums are now displayed as "Unknown" and I never had that problem before Android 15 either. I can live with this but it sure makes me think the problem does actually lie somewhere in the Android 15/Asus area rather than just Tidal.
I've tried pretty much everything I can think of:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the Tidal app
Clearing the app cache
Adjusting background activity and battery optimization settings
Testing different network connections
I even reached out to Tidal support, received some troubleshooting suggestions, and reported back, but unfortunately, nothing has resolved the issue. I’m curious if anyone else has had similar experiences with Tidal or other music services since Android 15, or if there's a known workaround.
Thanks
for any insights!

I don't have Tidal so I can't confirm, but so far background play hasn't been as aggressively killed for me since the update. I had scenarios where YT Premium would be playing with the screen off while I was going to sleep, and it would just cut out within a minute or 3. Now it happily trugs along until Cozy Timer tells it to shut down, so that's a good sign for me. Before the update even YouTube Music was being killed off and now it is also fine (played through an entire album earlier with the screen off). So, your mileage may vary.
That being said, this is definitely my last Asus device.

Actually it seems to work. But you will have to delete Tidal and other apps appearing in background check first. After a while they reappear again, but the toggle switch seem to stick now.
I will report back if the problem comes back. Still wondering why Tidal shows up in background check after a while but not for example Spotify though.

I have the same issue and have reported this to ASUS just after the first Android 15 update, was part of the beta testers. So far no fix still after two or three updates.

I’m seeing the same Tidal issue on Android 15 makes debugging harder when even a Roblox Game Developer in UK can’t figure it out. Definitely feels like an OS-level bug.
