Hi,
I'm experiencing a very frustrating issue with my Zenfone 8 Flip and I'm hoping someone here might have encountered something similar or have some insights. My Google applications, specifically the Gemini app, Google Lens, and Google Assistant, are unable to connect to the internet. They used to work before.
Problem Details:
- Gemini app, Google Lens, and Google Assistant consistently show "no internet connection" or similar errors.
- This is isolated to Google apps; other apps and Chrome browsing work perfectly.
- I can access Gemini through Chrome, but not the app.
- I cannot complete the setup of Google Assistant.
- Immediately after a phone reboot, the Gemini app and Google Lens works for about 10 seconds before losing connection.
Troubleshooting I've Done:
- Verified stable Wi-Fi and mobile data connections. All other apps work.
- Checked and granted all necessary permissions to the apps.
- Cleared cache and data for the affected apps and Google Play Services.
- Reinstalled the Google apps.
- Removed and re-added my Google account.
- Ensured Google Play Services is up to date and cleared its cache/data.
- Tested in Safe Mode (issue persists, especially with Google Lens).
- Reset network settings.
- Ensured the phone is up to date with the latest system updates.
- Ensured the Google Play store is fully up to date.
- I do not have a VPN or AdGuard installed.
Key Observations:
- The fact that the problem persists in Safe Mode suggests a system-level issue.
- The 10-second working window after reboot strongly indicates a timed system process is interfering.
Questions for the Community:
- Has anyone experienced a similar issue with their Zenfone 8 Flip or other Asus phones?
- Are there any Asus-specific system services or settings that might be causing this?
- Any suggestions for further troubleshooting steps, especially regarding system logs or network analysis?
I'm really at a loss here and would appreciate any help or suggestions.
Thanks in advance!
