Hello,

Certainly! Let’s get that fingerprint reader working on your Zenbook UX580GD. Here are the step-by-step instructions to properly install the driver:

Download the Driver:
Visit the ASUS support page for Zenbook Pro 15 UX580.
Select your operating system (Windows 11 64-bit in your case).
Download the Goodix Fingerprint Driver.
Install the Driver:
Save the downloaded package to an accessible location (such as your desktop).
Unzip the file and navigate to the newly-created directory.
Locate the setup file (usually named something like “setup.exe” or similar).
Double-click on the setup file to run it.
If prompted, allow Windows to run the file.
Restart Your Laptop:  yourtexasbenefits

After installation, restart your Zenbook to ensure the changes take effect.

@aus11
I suggest checking the Device Manager to see if the system detects the fingerprint recognition device.
If it is not detected, there might be a hardware issue.
If it is detected, please refer to the following FAQ again to reinstall the fingerprint recognition device driver and confirm if the issue persists.

Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.

Thank you for your replies

I have installed Goodix fingerprint driver as above, but it did not work.
I checked the device manager, and I cannot find fingerprint recognition device there.
I do not see how it could be a hardware issue though, since it was working normally with windows 10 but not so since updating to 11.
any more suggestions would be  great, Thank you again
