Grey lines and green flicker on webcam when using AC power

Quarter
Star II
System: Windows 10
Battery or AC: AC
Description: Grey lines and green flicker on webcam when using AC power
Model: UX533FD
Frequency of Occurrence: Always
Reset OS: No

Last edited by Quarter on 2019/12/9 09:37 As described above, the webcam image has grey lines and occasional green flickers. This only occurs when AC power is plugged in, everything works perfectly when using battery. I have removed and re-installed drivers with no success. This is a brand new laptop that I removed from the box yesterday. I see that there are two other questions with the same issue, but no answer has been provided. Is this a hardware issue and do I need to return my laptop or is there a software fix?

OK - but recording video requires an external video camera or a webcam. By the time one has been found, plugged in and set up the problem has stopped again. That's the difficulty with such things. Hence saying "I have the same issue" as others who have been able to capture this ought to be enough.

Same problem here. I live in Brazil and my model is X512FJ-EJ228T.
I've updated both the webcam driver and the BIOS to the latest and the problem persists.
As it happened with the other users here, the problem is gone when the charger is disconnected.
Will Asus fix this? I am a teacher and it's very annoying to have these green lines on my face!!!

Well then, really sorry for my bad english, I will keep learning.
I did not understand which issue you have at the first place
as this thread is about camera and then some main screen flickering jumped in.
I got confused, so sorry about that.
and external video camera or webcam.....don't limit your talent and imagination.
