Grey lines and green flicker on webcam when using AC power

Quarter
Star II
System: Windows 10
Battery or AC: AC
Description: Grey lines and green flicker on webcam when using AC power
Model: UX533FD
Frequency of Occurrence: Always
Reset OS: No

Last edited by Quarter on 2019/12/9 09:37 As described above, the webcam image has grey lines and occasional green flickers. This only occurs when AC power is plugged in, everything works perfectly when using battery. I have removed and re-installed drivers with no success. This is a brand new laptop that I removed from the box yesterday. I see that there are two other questions with the same issue, but no answer has been provided. Is this a hardware issue and do I need to return my laptop or is there a software fix?

My problem is with power plugged in as well as without the power adapter plugged in, no green lines but the video is jerky and kind of every move I make repeats itself once or twice.

Hi saurabh.gbp,
May I know when did this start to happen? After any update or modification?
Please kindly try to reinstall the camera driver.
Thank you.

Hi Blake, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the camera driver from device manager but the problem persist or rather getting worse.
This started happening just a week back, also I'm on DEV channel of Windows Insider (latest).

Hi Blake, I just tried reverting back to the previous version of Windows and it seems the problem has disappeared, so looks like Windows insider preview DEV channel latest was the culprit.
