Can the numpad (on screen pad) be used with Blender?

Description: The numpad on the screenpad does not work with Blender.

Hi When using Blender, it is almost neccessary to have a numeric keypad to switch views. When using the screen pad as a numeric key pad in Blender, it does not work. I am wondering why that could be, and if anyone else has experienced it and knows how to resolve, or if it even possible. Thanks - AC
