Asus UK suggested Zandparts in Sweden as one of their UK suppliers of parts. The laptop E410MA is out of warranty. Zandparts sent me a brand new battery but their warranty policy is really odd. For a "Business user", whatever that means, the warranty is restricted 3 months. Obviously this is illegal in the UK to confine us to 3 months.
I rang Asus support and the call handler said the issue was nothing to do with them and I should liaise with the firm in Sweden, yes the one recommended by Asus. Has anyone else in the UK had this warranty problem with European spares? It is totally unacceptable for Asus to suggest a supplier for the UK that seems to be skirting around UK legislation.
When I asked the the call handler for a UK postal address for Asus he could not even be bothered to look. He expected me to look it up on their website. Maybe he did not know how to?
Clearly this is not just a Vivobook issue, but I can't find a section for consumer rights!
