Various issues + Dreadful Asus Support - should I return my new ZenBook?

MariaL

Bought the ZenBook s13 OLED in December 2024.
I don't think the battery lasts as much as advertised and this is important to me.
I fixed a couple of minor things by myself.
However, today I started a Chat with Support to find out why my keyboard Copilot button opens Windows Search and not the Copilot chatbot. It was a very disappointing experience...
1. Had to create an Asus account to be able to chat with a live agent
2. When attempting to create this account, no password was accepted, not even those generated by Asus website. In the end I managed to create the account by signing in with my Microsoft account - which I do not like.
3. Chat agent was useless. After a while she told me that her system has problems.
4. Tried to sign in again to my Asus Account - the Microsoft account credentials were rejected. Tried the "Forgotten Password" routine two or three times - does not work - no new password was accepted.
I wasted a lot of time and I am frustrated.
Is this the usual quality of Asus Support? I was wondering anyway if I should return this laptop (because of the battery life issue) and after this experience with Support I am seriously considering it.
Please let me know your opinion about the quality of Asus Support.
Also, for owners of the UX5304 (UX5304MA-CS71-CB), please let me know how your battery life is.

Thank you very much.

@MariaL
Regarding battery usage, we recommend referring to the following FAQ for relevant information and guidance.
[Windows 11/10] Troubleshooting - Short Battery Life (Rapid Battery Drain)

Additionally, we recommend checking if the BIOS and system you are using are both updated to the latest version.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you Falcon_ASUS for your message.
However:
1. My Assus app Battery diagnostic returns "Good"
2. My Asus app says that my system is up to date
3.  My laptop is set with 10 out of 10 Energy recommendations ON
4. The Power Mode is set as Best Power Efficiency
And in these conditions my laptop battery goes from 100% to 9% in 6 hours - mostly web browsing and email checking. This is far from what I read in reviews all over the Internet. And this is why I'm considering returning my laptop, although I like it very much.
Will be grateful for any further opinion and/or advice.

@MariaL
The duration of battery usage is tested under specific conditions in the laboratory. Test settings: WiFi is turned on but not connected (not connected to any access point), Windows power plan is set to balanced, and screen brightness is set to 150 cd/m². Actual battery life varies depending on product configuration, usage, operating conditions, and power management settings. Battery life will decrease as the battery's lifespan shortens.

Since you have newly purchased the laptop, if you have any concerns about its usage, I would recommend contacting the dealer to check if a return or exchange is possible. Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.

Thank you very much for your answer. I understand what you are saying - very useful to me.
Yes, I have plenty of time to return this laptop, if it comes to it.
In the meantime, I received 2 emails from Support and I will try to talk with them about the battery and see what they have to say.
Thanks again,

ML
