5s Tencent version, WiFi won't turn on, can't firmware update manually

I'm writing this to mention 2 different issues in one post and it would we great if we can solve both issues.

My phone randomly froze and restarted the day before and I cannot turn on WiFi since then. I tried to diagnose the problem and based on the logcat output my drivers are somehow corrupted. Network reset, rebooting in safe mode and factory reset all failed to solve the issue. Before factory reset I created an adb backup and I'm unable to restore that as well, so now I'm stuck with a factory reset phone without wifi.

To try another fix, I downloaded the latest firmware for a manual update, and the phone recognizes the file, but when I try to update it instantly shows the "System update failed" popup. I read in a post that updates are incremental, which means I'd have to do a lot of updates covering a total of 3 years I believe. If there's an easier or simpler way to do it, that would be amazing. If not, I'd at least love to be able to find an archive of updates so I can access them all easily.

I also tried to unlock bootloader to try and fix the wifi driver files manually but I guess I'm doing something wrong when trying to fastboot twrp, so I also couldn't get that to work. I'm not a phone technician but I'm a programmer so I can do some stuff but when it goes beyond the scope of the guide/post and my general intuition I try not to mess with things too much to avoid further problems.
