[ROG3] Fingerprint doesn't work after repair at Asus Service Center

gazala3ruby
Star I

Model Name: ROG Phone 3
Firmware Version: WW_Phone-18.0410.2108.158 (latest as of 15/08/2021)
Rooted or not: No
Frequency of Occurrence: Always since repaired from Asus Service Center
I've attached a screen recording of the issue. I'm not able to add fingerprints in the settings.
I see this is a common issue on the forum, see here https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/44220/asus-rog-phone-3-fingerprint-scanner-not-working.
Please let me know if there's a fix. Or can I get a replacement phone, because I already waited one week for the repair to be done.

I think these two might be more helpful with this, I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem or software problem.
You can try to factory reset the phone. If the display has been replaced then I assume the fingerprint sensor has also been replaced, meaning I think there is some sort of signature that needs to be accepted by the phone due to security reasons. I'm not sure if thats something it can calibrate itself by factory reset or if the service center has to do it with special tools.

Usually when safe mode doesn't work, you should really take the phone back to the service centre.
However, try factory reset first before going back though.

I've tried a factory reset, didn't help. The Service center did say they had to do a factory reset to do the fingerprint calibration, but I don't know why it didn't work.
