Issue Summary:
My ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (FA506NCR) laptop consistently crashes and reboots when running on battery power. This issue does not occur when the device is plugged in.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

• Updated BIOS to version 304
• Installed latest chipset, GPU (AMD & NVIDIA), and power management drivers from ASUS support
• Disabled Fast Startup and Connected Standby
• Edited registry to expose “System cooling policy” in Power Options
• Set Armoury Crate to Performance mode
• Ran CHKDSK and Windows Memory Diagnostic — no issues found
• Booted into Safe Mode — crash still occurs on battery
• Analyzed crash dump using WinDbg (!analyze -v)

Crash Details:

• Bugcheck Code: 0x0000013A (KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION)
• Dump File: C:\Windows\Minidump\111125-13531-01.dmp
• Reliability Monitor logs show “Windows stopped working” and “Shut down unexpectedly” at crash time

Hi

If you ran a LIVE version of Linux, like Mint or Debian, on battery only and it crashes, then it looks like hardware.

If it doesn't crash, then suspect the OS.

If in doubt please ask.
