Has been using Windows 7 for years with my ASUSPRO laptop (BU401LG). I decided to upgrade the OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10 as the Windows 7 is out of date. I can't upgrade it to Windows 11 as the processor is not supported.
I need to keep the apps and files. How can I upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 without losing data?

The free upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 officially ended in July 2016, but the upgrade still works if you use the Media Creation Tool and enter a valid Windows 7 key during setup.
Step 1: Check Compatibility
Step 3: Run the Upgrade Assistant
Step 4: Keep Files and Apps

To upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 without losing your files and apps, use Microsoft's official Media Creation Tool. Download and run the tool from Microsoft's website, then select "Upgrade this PC now." During installation, choose the option to "Keep personal files and applications." This process preserves all your data, settings, and installed programs. Before starting, ensure you have a stable internet connection, back up critical data as a precaution, and check that your laptop meets Windows 10 system requirements. Your existing Windows 7 license will automatically activate Windows 10.
