XT9 Mesh - IoT

Valdo
Star III

Hello there,

Can anyone help me please? I already posted here a similar question, but get no relevant reply or instructions.

I would like to move a robot vacuum cleaner from the regular 2.4GHz band to a 2.4GHz IoT network. Can anyone tell me if this vacuum cleaner can be then controlled with an iPhone from the main home 5GHz network?

If so, how can this be done?

The reason is simple, I dont like to see the vacuum cleaner having full access to to whole network....

As the information that appears here is quite inaccurate and flawed, I wrote to Asus support about setting up IoT on the XT9. The answer, Mr. @Aureliannn_ASUS !!!, is that it is not possible to set up IoT on the XT9.

Hi @Valdo ,

Thank you for providing the information. We would like to confirm the following points:

  1. Confirm whether the IoT network function is enabled.
  2. Confirm whether the IoT network shares the same subnet with the main network.
  3. Reset the Wi-Fi settings of the robot vacuum and use the robot vacuum's mobile application to reconfigure the Wi-Fi.
  4. Use an iPhone (connected to the main Wi-Fi's 5GHz band) to open the robot vacuum's application and test if you can control the robot vacuum normally.
  5. If the distance between the robot vacuum and the router is too far, it may cause an unstable connection. It is recommended to place the robot vacuum within the stable signal range of the IoT network.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Thank you.

I'll try tomorrow.

Thank you for reply @Aureliannn_ASUS
