I'm interested in upgrading my network to a mesh system. The 2-pack XT9 seems like a good fit for me.
I understand that one unit will be attached to my providers incoming ethernet and that it will provide IP, addresses to all my devices. It will also provide some hardware ethernet ports to extend my network to wired printers and other hardware.
What I want to know is if the other remote unit that I will put upstairs connected to first unit by WiFi will also provide a place to connect hardwired devices. I do not have ethernet connections upstairs. So it would be great if the second unit will extend my wired network to devices that have no wifi upstairs.
Can anyone tell me if this can be done?

To verify you will connect the 2nd XT9 (aka node), via WiFi backhaul to the router, and are asking if the XT9 node Ethernet ports will work to provide connection to devices? Yes, the Ethernet ports should work. (I am not sure if all of them will but for sure some, at least barring any bugs/defects).

Yes, this is exactly what I need. Thank you so much for clarifying this!
I am re-evaluating the XT9 though. I may wait till the new year and look for deals on the new Asus WiFi 7 units. I don't really need WiFi 7 right now but if my provider comes through with the 5Gb Fiber they are promising, it would help make sure all my current and future devices get their share of the bandwidth.
Are there any settings I need to make sure I get right?
Thank you again!

The Asus newest wifi 7 devices, the BT series seems to have a more sophisticated wireless backhaul, but a wire is always the best solution if possible to install it.
