I'm running a pair of XD5 in access point mode. I've disabled wireless b in the web interface but this is only applied to the main unit & not to the node. What do I need to do to make the change global for the entire mesh rather than just the main unit?
Possibly related, inSSIDer is reporting a VHT mismatch in the 5GHz band.

Word from Asus is that the nodes only work properly when connected to a main unit as a router. When connected as a access point this, for some bizarre reason, fails. Obviously no one in their right mind runs two routers, especially if just because the manufacturer of one of them can't be bothered to make it work properly as an access point.
So once again with Asus, what looked to be a decent product is crippled by design. Return process initiated...

Did you add the second one to the first as an AiMesh node, or as an Access Point? Should show a tree like attached.

I can't find that view in the app.
I believe the boxed sets are pre-paired, so I didn't make any changes other than to the main unit, it just connected. The main unit defaulted to router mode & was changed to AP. This is how it looks in the web interface.
Edit
Just set up the third unit to test & again, it connected automatically with no input. Once connected, there appears to be no option to change the mode, which suggests that additional nodes can only be AiMesh devices. The third device also has wireless b enabled.

I'm sorry is wireless b for 2.4 GHz? There should be only one setting as the node should follow the primary Access Point. Can you show how you found b in the node but disabled in the AP?

From inSSIDer:
The MAC ending 80 is the main unit with b removed. MACs ending 51 & 61 are the to nodes with b still enabled. Further inSSIDer separate reports a mismatch with both the 2.4 & 5GHz channels.
I'd also expect the nodes to simply echo the setting of the main unit, but that's clearly not happening.
I did factory reset one of the nodes to see if it would then fully sync. It again reconnected automatically with no input from me & kept b enabled.
