I've been watching the problems that continue to show up with the connection handshake between ASUS routers running newer firmwares and clients. It is continuing to look like the problem lies in the newer security protocols of ASUS firmwares involving MAC address randomization - after reading one user's account of how his Android 10 and 12 clients have responded to connection. This is looking like a common issue among users experiencing client connection issues and I believe this is something ASUS should begin looking into immediately.

Our BE88u takes about 50 seconds to load the admin page.
Tried both my main computer (ethernet) and laptop (ethernet).
We're getting ~1000/100 speeds (limited by ethernet on the computers) on HFC.
Idle latency is 12 ms
Download latency is 36 ms
Upload latency is 11 ms
Webpages load quickly
Previously the admin page on our AX88u loaded quickly.
Is this part of the handshake issue you're referring to?

I would hope that someone who understands and uses a MAC address whitelist would also be aware of/or quickly find out that devices having issues are being blocked by MAC filtering...

Yes, I believe you recently helped someone here set up a static MAC address so they could add the device connection. However, this problem appears to be hidden within security with wireless bit transfers needed for authorization.
