The new BIOS updates for the Ryzen CPUs needs a new and updated version of the supported RAM, listed on the website. I have previously used a G.Skill 6000 kit, but it would not go beyond the 4800 speed no matter what I tried in XMP or EXPO. I changed to an OLOY 6000 kit that was supported on the list, and have had zero problems. I hope other people do not have problems because it is not listed or not supported. Thank you.

When I originally built this PC last month, I tried to use G.Skill X5 6000 CL30 (6000J3038F16GX2-FX5 Hynix A die). I initiated the XMP profile for 6000, and it would not post. Black screens at start, and it would default back to 4800 every time. It had an XMP profile in the bios. Without selecting the XMP, it would post and I could operate the computer at the 4800 speed, and anything higher would be unstable. I tried to manually overclock after the default XMP support, but nothing I tried would ever work at the advertised 6000 clock speed. I tried all speeds between, and they were all unstable, only the 4800 would be stable and not crash in a game or program. I double checked the installation, swapped the sticks around, used the other RAM slots, and finally looked into the supported module list, and it was not listed as being supported on the specification list.
I returned that RAM and got some OLOY 6000 CL32 (MD5U3260320BRSDE Hynix A die). Loaded the XMP profile and even tweaked all of the memory controller settings per BuildZoid's specs. It has been working flawlessly.
Back in the older days of DDR4, I would never expect to have these kinds of issues. You could take any DDR4 and work with it in any system, that I was aware of anyway. Either with DDR5 being new, so CPU/Board memory controllers may conflict with certain RAM build in controllers (7800X3D / B650 Plus Wifi). This is what I have deduced, but based on my one account being such a small sample, it may yet be clear overall. With so many RAM options, it may be a chance that I simply chose one that did not work.
That is why I wanted someone at ASUS to update the list on their website to verify the RAM is compatible firstly with this CPU / Board. An updated list, and the support should target lower latency options for the sake of greater performance, especially at higher clock speeds.
The G.Skill I used did not appear on the TUF B650 WIFI PLUS support page referenced above. The OLOY was listed. If you wonder off onto the non-Wifi version of this B650, there are different RAM sticks listed as supported.
Simply, I was disappointed ASUS did not know about this issue with RAM compatibility. It caused me about a week of headache troubleshooting everything and trying to go through settings each day to have the speed advertised, and could not achieve. I had to pay a return fee for the RAM, and spent more money to get more RAM. People all over the internet was trying to stand up against ASUS because of how situations are handled, and how they treat their customers. Even I decided to give ASUS a chance, and lost time and money. I think ASUS should put a notice more clearly, to only use RAM specified on their supported list. This is why I have come here, to suggest this be done. Explain to vendors to only sell RAM with these boards that are compatible, and relay this to the customer. An updated compatible RAM list on ALL AM5 ASUS boards should be considered with each major BIOS update like these AMD Chips are requiring.
Thank you.

Hi @RANDOM1337 ,
we apologize for any inconvenience caused during the troubleshooting process.
For compatible issue, we have clear instructions in the FAQ for users to select devices that are compatible with the memory list.
You can refer to the image below and the link provided for more information. Thank you.

Yes, of course. So when do we expect to get an updated list of the compatible RAM for higher clock speeds with this new BIOS update? Some boards are already over 8000 clock speeds. Will there be updates to the compatible list, or do users have to guess what will and will not work?
Thank you.

The new BIOS:
"1. Update AGESA version to Combo AM5 PI 1.0.0.7b
2. Improve memory compatibility
Released and still no updated RAM support listing update. This is the same situation as my original topic. Even though the BIOS had the XMP profile setting preloaded, it would not work with my original RAM. Please keep this popular motherboard updated.

It has been a few weeks since the BIOS update, with no compatible RAM updated list. Should we all just buy the new RAM kits and hope they work? How does ASUS handle these new updates that refresh the available RAM we can use????
