ROG Phone 6D - General Discussion Thread

We are only a couple of days (!) away from the ROG phone 6D launch event. General discussion threads will be removed moving forward and you are kindly asked to use this thread if you want to discuss the ROG Phone 6D with other Zentalk users.
Post-launch, please refrain from using this thread to highlight technical issues, bugs or sales-related topics, as this thread exists for general discussion purposes only. If you want to highlight an issue, please create a separate thread and an ASUS moderator staff will assist you further.

Do you think waterproof/dustproof (ipx4 on this phone ) have to do something with phone overheating?

No its the design. Its much like an oven. The hot air in the phone will be stuck inside which will warm everything up. The air cannot escape which means the phone gets hotter and hotter. The problem is that the phone doesnt have any direct way of cooling down the components. So instead they try to bruteforce it via cooling the backplate down which doesnt conduct the "cooling" very well.
When it comes to cooling asus literally have 0 clue what theyre doing.

Oh they dont have air vent like rog 3?
The air vent only available on 6d ultimate version?

It might be interesting to know wheter or not we can open the vent without having the cooler attached. As having it open would increase cooling capabilities quite a ton as it doesnt trap hot air inside the phone.
@Mattias_ASUS Can we open the latch without cooler attached?
