vckanandvppWhich custom ROM do you use? From what I know there are Lineage OS and Pixel Experience that should work fine on Max Pro series. Does it have performance/stability comparable with stock rom?https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/99851#Comment_99851
I unlocked many benefits on my Max pro m2 after unlocking boot loader. Lot of features I am enjoying in custom ROM can't be provided by ASUS even after a decade.
Even there are custom ROM's which provides monthly updates which are more stable than ASUS stock ROM . If I need to have any patch I can use it immediately with out begging ASUS.

deveeeI am using Havoc OS. Performance is more better than Stock ROM. Especially these ROM boosts CPU , GPU to a maximum level. Battery performance is still good. It has smart charging which will stop charging after a particular percentage. I set to 100%. Once 100% reached phone will stop charging.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/99895#Comment_99895

After installing Havoc Rom sound quality becomes better. Even there are options to customise it.
At present I didn't root the device. Whenever needed only I will install magix module for routing and uninstall it whenever not needed(Installer and uninstaller module is there online) UPI application works perfectly without rooting .
Even these lazy Asus tech people release Android 10 stable before I change my mobile , I am definitely not going to install it. After addicted to many features in Custom ROM , I definitely don't look back to Stock ROM

I just installed lineage os and now I enjoy 120 fps recording, manual focus etc. on my max pro m2 🙂 Still have to do something to make usb gamepads working but probably now I can build kernel module myself or maybe just use custom kernel...
There is Pixel Experience based on android 10, but people say that some things are broken in recent updates, so I didn't trust them 100%.
