Can you explain me how the OEM's work on updates, making them so slow?

vamsiFirst Google will release latest OS update to pixel phones and then take a month to release sources under AOSP. Once done Qualcomm will take another week or so to release hardware based update compatible with latest OS. Once this is done, OEM's will pick up the latest updates and then start developing new OS update. After few months companies will release beta update. After getting feedback from beta testers, OEM will fix the bugs and send the build to Google for verification with latest security update. Once Google approves then companies will prepare for releasing the build.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/69705#Comment_69705
