Quality of audio when recording video?

I have a 16/256 ZF9 and I've noticed that, when recording video, the captured audio is very bass heavy. My old ZF6 was better in this regard, audio was crips and clear while ZF9 audio sounds muddy in comparison due to too much bass. Could this be a hardware issue or something fixable in firmware updates? I'm running 33.0804.2060.113 version.
