Hi, I'm having the same issue with my Zenfone 9 on Vodafone Netherlands. Also, a friend of mine just bought the same phone this week and is reporting identical issues from his phone straight out of the box. He's on a different carrier, KPN Netherlands.
The issue has been around since I got the phone in december. I thought something glaring like this would have been picked up and solved by now. But alas.
Unfortunately the issue is a bit to inconsistent to reproduce on command. But I can confirm its NOT a mic issue. The mic is fine. It happens when calling normally, hands free and on a headset/car-kit. It feels like there's some issue when the phone switches between 3/4/5G etc. Re-calling always solves the issue. It happens at least once a day. It has been described to me like I sound like I'm 'under water' or 'robotic'.
See attachment for phone info.

You described my problem EXACTLY like mine 100 proc. - not always, re-calling fixes the problem, people describe that they hear me like I am underwater 🙂 I will try to turn off 5g for no reason, maybe some interferences happening, donw know. Tried everything else, - downloading different dialer app, switching sim slots etc

I gave up on resolving this issue after many months. Returned the phone to the seller and they will try to solve it. The law in my country gives the seller three attempts to resolve the issue before I can claim money back. I doubt that ASUS will fix this issue. Especially when the Zenfone 10 already launched, and that Zenfone 9 is only given 2 years of software updates.
I will never buy another ASUS phone and by no means will I ever recommend it to others.
